Translations Made Crisp and Clear.

What's new?

27. 7. 2026

Testing languagecheck.ai, a new online service providing AI-generated proofreading of your translations. Not bad but IMHO not worth the fee, at least not for freelancers.

22. 6. 2026

In an idle moment, I tried to play with ChatGPT to see whether or not it can help me to be more creative in my translations or interpreting. Tested editing of translated texts, support in copywriting or even asked the bot to make me a travel itinery for my vacation in Italy.

15. 3. 2026

I am proud to have been certified to work at two remote simultaneous interpreting (RSI) platforms, Interprefy and Interactio.  I've already had a certification for the KUDO platform.

12. 1. 2026

Today, we have finalized the LOINC/SNOMED project, commissioned by the Czech Ministry of Health. It involved translating a HUGE - millions of words - medical terminology database to be used by general HCP audience when ordering lab tests or describing a diagnosis.

29. 11. 2025

November is always a peak conference season. This November, I helped veterinary surgeons, content marketing gurus, movie theater audience, Alzheimer specialists and Sworn Construction Experts to understand English and/or Czech presentations at conferences in Prague, Athens and Helsinki.

30. 10. 2025

Did a number of remote simultaneous interpreting (RSI) events this month: marketing research interviews, corporate Town Halls, sales presentations... The setting is often complex: A web platform, several languages, speakers and several communication lines... with the client and audience in different counties and my booth partner is often many miles away.

31. 3. 2024

Helped with a project on rating the quality of responses provided by the Gemini AI model. An interesting experience, and sometimes even funny when the AI starts 'hallucinating'.

5. 10. 2023

Helped a team of UN researchers doing a survey in Czech prisons. Within a week, we have visited 4 prisons and listened to several inmate focus groups. Whisper interpreting of 10 inmates speaking at the same time in large rooms with echo and no supportive technology was quite a challenge.

10. 9. 2023

Organized a virtual pow-wow (video conference) for Czech translators. Thanks to proz.com and Zoom for helping me to make the event happen!

15. 1. 2023

Proudly helped to translate COVID-19 Treatment Guidelines into Czech. A pro bono project, the resulting booklet has been distributed for free to Czech hospitals as a tool to fight against the pandemy.

20. 11. 2022

This month, the Czech Translator Association had their annual event, St. Jerome's Days. I was honored to interpret the keynote speech - by Chris Durban, a leading personality of the American Translator Association - from English and then I turned into speaker myself and shared my experience with speech-to-text software. BTW, the software really boosts my productivity, so I can offer a faster turnaround to my clients.

28. 4. 2020

Jumped aboard of a remote simultaneous interpreting (RSI) project - a series of 'COVID-19 Treatment in Patients with Commorbidities' webinars by Boehringer Ingelheim. Today, we had 4 languages and over 4,000 listeners, mostly GPs.

14. 9. 2019

Helped with a Sponsor audit at a clinical study site. Not that much fun like a conference but a valuable hands-on experience – you can talk with investigators, see the files, learn their lingo... Plus an orthodontist conference and a completely different stuff – a European Work Council meeting in the Northern Bohemia.

29. 8. 2018

Not too many conferences in summer, so I had more time to focus on translation projects and to play with new translation tools. Aside from working with Memsource on several projects, I started to use Megaword, a speech-to-text software which has a huge potential to boost my productivity. (Unfortunately, I cannot use Dragon, as it does not support Czech.)

19. 7. 2018

I had a challenging task to interpret a training course for Czech football/soccer coaches. A fascinating world, very different from that of medicine. Also, I am working on an exciting translation project – a tourist website of a major Arabic city.

22. 6. 2017

A long series of business conferences/seminars this month, a training course for Mercedes sales staff and the first translation project using the SDL Studio Groupshare cloud platform.

30. 3. 2017

End of March is the time to file tax returns in the Czech Republic. Quite some struggle, especially if you are a linguist, not very comfortable with figures... But I did it! And, in the meantime, I was also able to do some interpreting at investigator meetings in Madrid and Vienna as well as for mining engineers in Ostrava, Czech Republic.

28. 1. 2017

In January, I had more time to play with new things, so I've added memoQ to the list of my available CAT tools. And I supported auditors at a clinical trial/sponsor audit as well as experts on HIV and multiple sclerosis during their conferences.

6. 11. 2015

Visiting an ATA Conference in Miami, FL. An overwhelming experience - this is a really huuge event.

This is my new web site! Please bear with me, it's still under construction. Hope you will like it.
